As a proud graduate of The Ohio State University, I am a higher education professional with over 25 years of combined experience in administration, teaching, research, and service. Additionally, dedicated to student retention and success. I have taught 1st, 2nd, and 4th grades in Texas public schools and courses in early childhood education, elementary education, diversity and equity, teacher education, reading, literacy, action research, and qualitative research in higher education. I have successfully chaired numerous dissertations and sat on many dissertation committees. Currently, I serve on the IRB and hold current CITI research training certificates.

I am a Professor and Associate Dean of the Graduate School at my university. In this role, I supervise the Office of Thesis and Dissertations and approve theses and dissertations. One of my areas of expertise is motivating doctoral students in their 5th year or more in their program. We co-create a realistic backwards timeline to ensure graduation before they reach their 10-year deadline. Professors work hard, balancing life, teaching, research, and scholarship. Doctoral students are often left with minimal guidance and support. I am a high-touch coach offering proofreading and editing in APA 7 format. Moreover, I am passionate about working with underserved populations and mentoring and coaching doctoral students.

To date, as a principal investigator or co-principal investigator, I have procured 1.219 million dollars in referred grants and 288,158 thousand dollars in non-referred grants.
